What should I expect after my nose-job surgery?

If the septum is operated upon, then you will have a pack in your nostrils for the first 24 hours after surgery. This will be removed the next day by your surgeon.

There will be a special splint or cast applied to your nose immediately after surgery. This is required to limit the swelling and inflammation process so that the surgical result is not compromised. This splint stays on your nose for 10 to 14 days.

You will have some obvious swelling and bruising on your face along with the appearance of black eyes (in some cases). This will take 10 to 14 days to settle. You may resume non-strenuous activities after 2 weeks.

You may start strenuous activities after 1 month of rhinoplasty surgery.

You may see the difference from 2 to 4 weeks’ stage. You may start to enjoy your result by the 3-month stage. However, the final result may take 6 months to even a year to manifest.
